27 Dead Including 20 Children At School In Connecticut

A shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut Friday left 27 dead, including 20 children and a gunman.
The shooting occurred at 9:30 am EST Friday morning. Police received a 911 call of an emergency at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut.
Police entered the school and began what they call an "active shooter search". Then they concentrated on evacuating the school to get everyone to safety.
Authorities say 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot his mother, drove her car to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Lanza forced his way into the school and shot 20 children, six adults and himself. Adam's mother Nancy may have volunteered at the school, but there is no record of her working at the school. Investigators are still trying to piece together why this happened.
The shooting occurred in two rooms at one area of the school. Authorities have not confirmed the ages or names of the victims.
Town Officials say that the school's principal Dawn Hochsprung died while lunging toward the shooter trying to stop him.
Heartbreaking images show frightened children and concerned parents as the school was cleared.
Crisis Management teams are on hand to help students, family and first responders deal with what they went through.
