Perez will recognize Trujillo at 6:30 p.m. at Palm Springs Regal Theater for his contributions to the advancement of Spanish-language cinema.

Trujillo, who is director of the Guadalajara Film Festival, is in Palm Springs to serve on the jury for the new Cine Latino Award, which will present a $5,000 prize to the best Ibero-American film screening at the festival.
