East Coast storm leads to flight delays at Los Angeles International Airport
More than 40 flights into and out of Los Angeles International Airport have been canceled because of the massive winter storm on the East Coast.
Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles says more than 5,500 passengers were affected by the cancelations Thursday, one of the busiest days of the two-week holiday travel period.
Castles says the 41 cancelations were out of a total of 1,560 flights scheduled Thursday at LAX. The blizzard grounded hundreds of flights in cities including New York, Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia. Thousands more were delayed.
