LA QUINTA, Calif. -

A 24-year-old La Quinta man allegedly shot two people early today during an argument, a sheriff's sergeant said.

The shooting was reported around 2:35 a.m. in the 53000 block of Avenida Herrera. Robert Santos allegedly argued with the two victims and then shot at their vehicle as they drove away, striking both of them, sheriff's Sgt. Steve DaSilva said.

He said the victims drove themselves to a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Santos was later found, arrested and booked into the county jail in Indio on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, DaSilva said.
